How this directory is built, and how it makes money

Who runs it

This site is published by the team behind FEXads, which sells done-for-you Meta ad campaigns to life insurance agents, and its property & casualty sister brand BookBuilding Media. That is a conflict, so we are going to state it at the top instead of burying it: we would rather you ran your own ads. We also know most agents will buy leads either way, and a directory built by someone with no skin in the market would not be worth reading.

What that conflict does not buy is placement. FEXads appears in labeled ad units only. It is not listed as a vendor, it is not ranked, and no listing is edited to make it look better by comparison.

How a vendor gets listed

• It sells life, final expense, mortgage protection, Medicare or annuity leads to individual licensed agents.
• It is currently operating, with a live site we can verify.
• Enough is publicly knowable about its model to write an honest entry.

Vendors do not apply and cannot pay. There are 37 in the directory today and the number moves as we verify more.

Where the pricing comes from

Published prices come from the vendor’s own site. Where a price is only ever quoted by a rep, we say so rather than guessing, and where a number comes from third-party agent discussion instead of the vendor, the entry says that too. Every listing carries the date it was last checked and links to its sources.

Lead pricing changes constantly and is often negotiated per agent, per state and per volume. Treat every number here as a starting point for a conversation, not a quote.

What we will not do

• Take money for a listing, a ranking, or a better write-up.
• Publish an accusation about a named company that we cannot source.
• Invent statistics. Any number here is either arithmetic we show, or a range we label as reported.
• Sell leads. We are not a vendor and we do not collect consumer information.

Corrections

If you run one of these companies and something is wrong, we will fix it. Send the correction with a public source and it goes in — that is the whole process, and it does not cost anything.
